B Lab EU: Tell us briefly who you are and what your company does? Opaline Factory: Since 2009, Opaline, a Swiss company, produces local fruit juices and lemonades differently with a positive impact at each and every step of its cycle.
B Lab EU: Why did you decide to become a B Corp? Opaline Factory: Doing good, socially and environmentally, has been at the source of our project from the very beginning. Being able to measure our impact in different angles of our project helped us to celebrate what was right and identify what could be done better. This is why we engaged in the B Corp certification.
B Lab EU: What does being a B Corp mean to you? Opaline Factory: Being part of a community of entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and in different segments. Diversity at the service of a shared mission: using business as a force for positive impact. This all means we feel stronger, inspired and energised to pursue our mission.
B Lab EU: Have you seen business benefits of being a B Corp? Opaline Factory: Not yet but we are running a pitch to all Swiss B Corp companies to explore partnerships.
B Lab EU: What are you looking forward to most about the 2019 Summit? Opaline Factory: Hearing about and meeting small companies whose values have been driving their businesses from the very beginning.
B Lab EU: What are your plans for the future to use your business as a force for good? Opaline Factory: Just as we reached profitability, we have created a Foundation, funded in part by a percentage of the margin on sales of our drinks. Through local and collaborative fruit farms, our Foundation contributes to reinforcing our connection to nature, biodiversity and to those who farm our land on a daily basis. Our initiative is open to local schools, businesses and families.
B Lab EU: Thank you and look forward to seeing you at the Summit!
